The creation of an after-image imprinted on the retina as the perception of the building fades away, coupled with a need to provide solar and thermal protection over the exposed elevations led to the proposal of a skin that is both fractal and reflective. The building makes use of removable and directional curtain wall panels able to automatically adjust along a horizontal axis. The underface reflects the urban landscape while the photovoltaic panel covered surface contributes to energy independence at the same time that it captures the changes in the colours of the sky. The result is an apparently random grid that breaks up and diffracts the image, leaving no more than an infinitely complex variable and colour shading.
